European leaders were unable to convince Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to abandon the decision to block a $90 billion loan for Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> Politico.<\/span><\/p>\n

As four diplomats said on condition of anonymity, the discussion of the loan, which lasted an hour and a half, did not yield the desired result.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, European Council President Antonio Costa criticized Orban’s decision, calling the Hungarian prime minister’s behavior “unacceptable.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The President of the European Council believes that Orban is violating the terms of cooperation that are the foundation of the European Union, thus crossing a “red line” that no leader has ever crossed.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, a summit of EU leaders was held in Brussels, where one of the key issues was financial support for Ukraine<\/a> , in particular the possible unlocking of a 90 billion euro aid package.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Orban stated in Brussels that Budapest would not agree to a decision in favor of Ukraine<\/a> until the Druzhba oil pipeline resumes operation.<\/p>\n
