The administration of US President Donald Trump has decided to accelerate the sale of billions of dollars in arms to Middle Eastern countries, using an emergency decision mechanism to bypass Congress.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State Department justified the move by the need to quickly strengthen the defenses of allies against threats from Iran. Washington believes that countries in the region could become targets of attacks in response to the actions of the United States and Israel.<\/p>\n

The United Arab Emirates will receive the largest package – almost $8.4 billion. These include air-to-air missiles, ammunition for F-16s, anti-drone systems, and radars integrated with THAAD complexes.<\/p>\n

Kuwait will receive air and missile defense systems worth about $8 billion.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A package of $70.5 million has been provided for Jordan, which includes aviation support, ammunition, and spare parts.<\/p>\n
