Farewell to the emeritus Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Filaret, is underway at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Patriarch’s body was brought to the cathedral, where the clergy, led by Metropolitan Epiphanius, greeted him in a lively corridor. After that, the funeral service began.<\/p>\n

Clergy and Kyiv residents come to say goodbye to Filaret. Metropolitan Epiphany emphasized that the Patriarch spoke until the very end about love as a unifying force.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The farewell will last until the morning of March 22. The Gospel will be read in the church and requiem prayers will be performed.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A requiem Divine Liturgy and memorial service will be held on March 21, after which the farewell will continue throughout the day.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On Sunday, March 22, at 8:30 a.m., a memorial service will begin at St. Michael’s Cathedral, led by Metropolitan Epiphanius. A funeral service will follow.<\/p>\n

At around 11:00 a.m., the funeral procession will head to St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral, where the funeral will be completed and the burial will be held in accordance with the will of the Patriarch.<\/p>\n
