He left Ukraine shortly before the outbreak of full-scale war in February 2022.

How the work was carried out

Construction work on the villa took place over the course of two years, from 2014 to 2016. Specifically, the expansion of one of the basement swimming pools was accomplished using Nonex explosives, which were stored near the house without proper security measures. Furthermore, trees were cut down on the villa’s grounds without the proper permits.

A former employee reported the violation to the city hall and prefecture’s urban planning department back in 2019, but the authorities only responded in 2021. During a search in 2023, the gendarmerie discovered remnants of explosives that had not been removed from the construction work.

Who will stand trial?

The villa’s manager will appear in court. Former employees filed lawsuits alleging life-threatening injuries during the work. The lawyer claims his client did not give orders for the work and is seeking acquittal. The court will decide who is truly responsible for the violation. The hearing is scheduled for March 23, 2026.

Also follow “Pryamy” on Facebook , X , Telegram and Instagram.

The Nice Criminal Court is hearing a case of illegal construction on a villa owned by two former Ukrainian members of parliament, specifically Sergei Levochkin.
