Russia has launched the first communications satellites into orbit that can be used as an alternative to Starlink for the military.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the company “Bureau 1440”.<\/p>\n

This is about the launch of 16 satellites of the Rassvet system, which took place on March 23. The company stated that this is a transition from the experimental stage to the creation of a full-fledged satellite Internet service.<\/p>\n

Russia plans dozens of new launches and the deployment of a large low-orbit constellation to provide communications with global coverage.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The system was originally developed for civilian use, particularly in aviation and rail transport. However, after restrictions on access to Starlink for the Russian military, it may be reoriented to the needs of the army.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, to fully replace Starlink, Russia will have to conduct another series of launches, create affordable ground terminals, and establish their mass production.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian military is trying to compensate for restrictions on access to Starlink and is changing the tactics of using drones on the front.<\/a><\/p>\n
