On the night of Wednesday, March 25, drones from Russia flew into the airspace of the Baltic states. One of them crashed into the chimney of a power plant in Estonia, and another exploded in Latvia – the wreckage of the drone was found on the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Latvian Ministry of Defense and ERR.<\/p>\n

“Early warning systems recorded a sound similar to an explosion in the Kraslavsky district,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The National Guard, police, and border guards were at the scene. There were no injuries or serious damage. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.<\/p>\n

In Estonia, a drone from the Russian Federation crashed into the chimney of the Auvere power plant at 03:43 in the morning. Sappers, police and prosecutors worked at the scene. Prosecutor General Astrid Asi noted that the drone did not intend to hit Estonia, the exact reasons are being established by the investigation. The energy company assured that the facility was not seriously damaged and the power system is operating without interruptions.<\/p>\n

By the way, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds interrupted his visit to Ukraine due to an incident with a drone that flew into Latvian territory from Russia.<\/p>\n

“Due to the incident that occurred, I am interrupting my working visit to Ukraine and returning to Latvia,” the minister wrote.<\/p>\n

Recall that on Tuesday, March 24, during the day, Poland scrambled its and allied aircraft twice due to the Russian attack on Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, on Friday, March 13, two Polish MiG-29 fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 aircraft over the waters of the Baltic Sea.<\/a><\/p>\n
