The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy recommended for first reading a draft on regulating the activities of information sharing platforms, including Telegram.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The corresponding decision was made during a committee meeting on Wednesday, March 25.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to People’s Deputy Mykola Kniazhytskyi, who is the author of the bill, through Telegram there is a risk of ordering terrorist acts, drug trafficking, and spreading fakes against the Ukrainian state.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut not only in tg (Telegram \u2013 ed.). We see the danger in many countries of TikTok. But unlike totalitarian countries, we do not want to restrict anyone,\u201d he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, Kniazhytskyi stated that<\/span> deputies will soon submit draft law No. 11115 to the parliamentary hall<\/span><\/a> , and they may also vote for it in the first reading.<\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that the bill notes that all platforms must have transparency in ownership and funding.<\/span><\/p>\n
