The SBU detained an FSB agent who was planning to blow up a power substation in Kropyvnytskyi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the department.<\/p>\n

It is noted that counterintelligence prevented a new attempt by the racists to carry out a large-scale sabotage. The agent was caught red-handed during curfew, while retrieving a homemade bomb from a hiding place at the entrance to the city.<\/p>\n

“The explosive device was equipped with 300 grams of plastid and a mobile phone for remote detonation,” the post says.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the agent planned to transport the bomb in a taxi and plant it near transformers to destroy a key power node that powers most of Kropyvnytskyi’s strategic and social facilities.<\/p>\n

The SBU established that a local unemployed man recruited by the enemy agreed to “easy money” via Telegram and received the coordinates of the cache and the location of the sabotage. During the search, explosives and a smartphone with evidence of working for the enemy were seized from the detainee.<\/p>\n

“The agent was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law). Additional qualification for preparation of sabotage is also being considered,” the SBU noted.<\/p>\n

The perpetrator is in custody without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The complex measures were carried out by SBU officers in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Russian agent in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service, who was coordinating missile and drone strikes on Odessa.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the military counterintelligence of the SBU, together with the command of the Armed Forces , detained a serviceman of the Unmanned Systems Forces, who worked simultaneously for the FSB of the Russian Federation and Belarusian intelligence.<\/a><\/p>\n
