Prosecutors in the Khmelnytskyi region have referred a case to court against a 55-year-old resident of the Khmelnytskyi district. The man is accused of leaving a minor in danger, which led to his death, as well as of illegal drug possession.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.<\/p>\n

The investigation established that the man was friends with a 9-year-old neighbor boy. In January 2026, they drank alcohol together at his house. After that, the accused let the child go home without taking care of his safety.<\/p>\n

On the way, the boy got lost, fell into a snowdrift, lost consciousness and died from the toxic effects of alcohol.<\/p>\n

During the pre-trial investigation, drugs that he kept at home were also seized from the man. He was detained, reported on suspicion, and placed in custody as a preventive measure.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor’s office reminded that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that in the Khmelnytskyi region , law enforcement officers reported suspicions to a 55-year-old man, who is suspected of involvement in the death of a 9-year-old boy<\/a> after drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n
