More broadly, we essentially have two second-place finishers, with third place separated by a margin of error. And as of today, this trio of leaders—Zaluzhny, Zelensky, and Poroshenko—are essentially within the margin of error of each other. This is how Ukrainians currently see the elections, and how they might proceed if they were held, say, next Sunday,” notes Vadym Denisenko.

“Besides these four, we can say that the military party could definitely get 12-15% in total,” the political scientist said.

“We’ve also begun measuring the Terekhov-Kim party, the mayor of Kharkiv and the head of the Mykolaiv military administration. Currently, they have just over 2% of the vote, but it’s clear that this force is probably worth keeping an eye on. Their activity shows that they’re starting to take certain steps toward becoming a real political force. Although, as of now, they’re far from the electoral threshold,” says Denisenko.

“If we take a 100 percent view of Ukrainians, about a quarter are currently undecided about who they’ll vote for. Another 7% or so say they won’t vote, and in some cases, they’re even saying they might tear up their ballots. They’ll demonstratively ignore these elections. They won’t just not vote, they’ll demonstratively ignore them,” the political scientist said.

He also noted that the number one issue that worries Ukrainians is corruption, and this attitude is deepening.

“Currently, the issue of corruption, unfortunately, remains the number one concern for Ukrainians. It’s even more concerning than the situation on the front lines and shelling in civilian cities. Essentially, it’s the top three: corruption, the situation on the front lines, and shelling in cities. Corruption has been the number one concern for Ukrainians for at least the past year and a half, perhaps even a little longer. And it’s a topic that will remain dominant. In my view, it will remain a key or dominant issue for all Ukrainians not just in the near future, but at least for the next eighteen months to two years,” the expert believes.

“Unfortunately, we can’t talk about any changes taking place, or about people believing that a real fight against corruption is underway. Despite the huge number of high-profile scandals, despite the fact that we hear about criminal proceedings being opened practically on a daily basis, and even see long-running ‘serials’ on this issue in certain instances, unfortunately, people don’t believe this issue can be overcome. Ukrainians don’t see the will to overcome corruption on a large scale, rather than addressing specific issues,” says Vadym Denisenko.

“This is, in fact, one of the biggest problems. And if the population doesn’t believe it, no country in the world has been able to overcome corruption if the population didn’t believe it was possible,” Denisenko said.

Also follow “Pryamy” on Facebook , X , Telegram and Instagram.

Political scientist Vadim Denisenko, speaking on the Pryamoye channel, commented on the results of the sociological survey “Socio-political sentiments of Ukrainians (March 2026),” conducted by New Image Marketing Group in conjunction with Delovaya Stolitsa.
