Even before the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the industry was expecting record profits in 2026 – about $41 billion. However, the doubling of fuel prices has put these forecasts at risk.<\/p>\n

A number of major airlines are already cutting flights and raising prices. Some carriers have introduced additional fuel surcharges to offset costs.<\/p>\n

Experts say the industry is in a difficult situation: companies need to simultaneously raise prices due to costs and hold them down so as not to lose passengers.<\/p>\n

Carriers are expected to reduce the number of flights to support prices. At the same time, rising flight costs may force some passengers to cancel their trips or choose cheaper alternatives.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, a key route for oil supplies from the Middle East. The movement of oil tankers in the strait has been effectively halted, and ships have reduced their speed to zero.<\/a><\/p>\n
