And freedom of navigation in the Middle East is in British national interests,\u201d Starmer stressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The UK claims that this will be the first time that countries have come together to discuss this issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The meeting will be attended by countries that signed a joint statement last month, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Canada, South Korea, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, the United States will not join other countries in discussing ways to unblock the strait.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> Earlier it was reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/iran-perekryv-nayvazhlyvishyy-marshrut-postachannia-nafty-z-blyzkoho-skhodu-shcho-vidbuvaietsia-v-ormuzkiy-prototsi\/\">Iran had blocked the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf<\/a> , a key route for oil supplies from the Middle East.
