A bill was presented in Italy that provides for the transfer of decommissioned fishing nets to Ukraine for protection against drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The initiative, presented in the Italian Senate, envisages the creation of a state mechanism that would allow companies to transfer used nets instead of disposing of them.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The bill was authored by Senator Ivan Scalfarotto. The initiative was supported by other politicians, including Senator Silvia Fregolent.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

President of the Network of Associations for Ukraine Dmytro Shchukin noted that in Ukraine such nets are already used to protect against drones, and this practice helps save lives.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, if adopted, the law could become an example for other European countries and usher in a new approach to the use of civilian resources for security purposes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

During the presentation, participants emphasized that the demand for such protective equipment remains high, especially in cities near the front.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The president of the Italian-Ukrainian Association, Anna Gordon, also emphasized the importance of the initiative and showed the wreckage of the drone that fell near her family’s house.<\/p>\n

The participants of the event expressed hope that the draft law will receive support and will work in practice.<\/p>\n
