Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that explosives had been discovered at a gas facility between Serbia and Hungary. Hungary then convened a National Defense Council and Serbia launched an anti-terrorist operation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote about this on Facebook<\/a> .<\/p>\n

According to Orban, information about the explosive device came after his conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.<\/p>\n

“Serbian authorities have discovered an explosive device of destructive power and the means necessary to activate it at a critical gas infrastructure facility connecting Serbia and Hungary,” Viktor Orban said.<\/p>\n

He added that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and also announced the convening of an emergency meeting of the Defense Council.<\/p>\n

In parallel, a large-scale anti-terrorist operation was launched in Serbia after explosives were discovered near the Balkan Stream gas pipeline in the north of the country.<\/p>\n

According to Serbian authorities, two military backpacks containing high-explosive explosives and detonating cords were discovered in the area of the settlements of Velebit and Vojvoda Zimoni\u0107.<\/p>\n

Experts concluded that these explosive devices could have destroyed the compressor unit and caused a long-term stoppage of gas transit to Hungary.<\/p>\n

Currently, traffic is blocked in the area of several settlements, law enforcement officers are inspecting buildings and infrastructure facilities, and are also searching for possible other explosive devices and individuals involved.<\/p>\n

Separately, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, stated<\/a> that Ukraine was not involved in the incident.<\/p>\n

“We categorically reject attempts to falsely link Ukraine to the incident with an explosive device discovered near the TurkStream pipeline in Serbia. Ukraine has nothing to do with this,” said Georgy Tykhyi.<\/p>\n

By the way, in Hungary, the government released a video of the interrogation of a 19-year-old IT activist associated with the opposition party “Tysa” and stated that he was allegedly recruited by Ukraine<\/a> . However, there are no such direct confessions in the recording itself.<\/p>\n

Ukraine recently agreed to the European Union’s offer of financial and technical assistance<\/a> for the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline.<\/p>\n

Previously, some European countries and the European Commission asked Ukraine to provide access<\/a> to the damaged section of the oil pipeline, but were allegedly refused.<\/p>\n

As is known, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a possible interruption of electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not resumed<\/a> .<\/p>\n
