A ship carrying wheat sank in the Sea of Azov near occupied Kerch on April 5. According to the Russian side, there are one dead and one missing, but most of the crew was able to escape.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the Gauleiter of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo.<\/p>\n

According to him, the accident occurred on a Volgo-Balt class vessel carrying wheat. The incident occurred after a drone attack claimed by the Russian side.<\/p>\n

The crew abandoned the ship and was able to reach the coast of the Kherson region. 9 crew members were found on the shore.<\/p>\n

One of the sailors, a senior mate born in 1991, died. Two more crew members are missing and the search for them is ongoing.<\/p>\n

According to Russian sources, the ship was sailing from the port of Azov to the port of Kavkaz.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian side did not comment on the statements regarding the drone attack.<\/p>\n

The circumstances of the incident are currently being established, and an investigation into the causes of the accident is ongoing.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Turkish company Erisler<\/span><\/span> , which is a supplier to the UN World Food Program<\/span><\/span> , may purchase Ukrainian grain exported from temporarily occupied Mariupol<\/span><\/span><\/a> through the Russian company Nika<\/span><\/span> .<\/p>\n
