The Security Service of Ukraine detained an engineer of a strategic defense enterprise in the Dnipropetrovsk region who worked for two Russian special services at once – the FSB and the GRU.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press center of the SBU.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the Russian special services recruited the man through his son, who is serving a sentence in the Russian Federation for drug crimes. In exchange for the promise of amnesty, the agent agreed to pass secret information to the enemy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The person in question had access to state secrets and special workshops of the enterprise. He planned to transfer data on the fulfillment of a defense order, as well as the coordinates of production facilities. The Russians considered these facilities as potential targets for missile strikes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The SBU exposed the agent’s activities in advance, documented his contacts with supervisors, and detained him at his workplace. During the search, security officers seized a phone with evidence of cooperation with the FSB and GRU. The suspect used anonymous chats in messengers to communicate.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The investigation also found that the man tried to recruit other factory workers and security guards.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Investigators have charged him with treason under martial law. The court has chosen a preventive measure – detention without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the SBU and the National Police prevented a series of contract killings in Kyiv and the region, which were being prepared by Russian agents.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the SBU counterintelligence detained a Russian military intelligence agent in Rivne who was coordinating air attacks on facilities in the western region of Ukraine.<\/a> <\/p>\n
