Russia does not plan to extend the so-called “Easter truce” and states that it is exclusively humanitarian in nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Russian dictator’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that such steps should not be viewed as a political signal or a change in Moscow’s position.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“We don’t want a truce, we want peace, a strong, sustainable peace,” he said, referring to Vladimir Putin’s position.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, Peskov voiced a condition under which, according to him, “peace can come today.” He stated that this is possible if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “takes responsibility and makes an appropriate decision.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Kremlin spokesman did not specify what decision he was referring to. Presumably, he meant the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas.<\/p>\n

Peskov also commented on Zelensky’s statement about Ukraine’s mirror response to Russia’s actions regarding the ceasefire. According to him, Moscow has drawn attention to this position, but without providing details.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had declared an Easter truce.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga<\/span><\/span> said that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s<\/span><\/span> proposal for a ceasefire for Easter “has a chance of being implemented.”<\/a> <\/p>\n
