Ukraine has agreed with Belgium and Spain on key areas of defense cooperation ahead of the Ramstein format meeting. These include strengthening air defense, developing drones, and providing the front with long-range artillery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, the Ukrainian side held talks with Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken and Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles. The parties synchronized cooperation priorities, in particular, on strengthening air defense and developing unmanned technologies.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Belgium will provide 1 billion euros in defense assistance to Ukraine in 2026. Brussels also confirmed its intention to transfer additional F-16 fighter jets and provide spare parts for existing aircraft.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Spain is also allocating 1 billion euros in support this year. The parties discussed expanding cooperation between defense industries, in particular within the framework of the European SAFE mechanism. Ukraine has proposed a list of manufacturers for cooperation with Spanish companies.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Separately, Kyiv offered Madrid the opportunity to test Spanish drones in combat conditions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fedorov thanked the partners for their support and emphasized that such cooperation helps Ukraine deter the enemy, protect the sky, and increase the effectiveness of strikes against Russia’s military infrastructure.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Ukraine and Germany agreed on key areas of defense cooperation ahead of the Ramstein format meeting, which will take place on April 15.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko reported that Norway has allocated funds for budget support for Ukraine.<\/a> <\/p>\n
