President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that exempts owners of damaged or destroyed housing from paying for utility services for the period when it is uninhabitable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the website of the Verkhovna Rada.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The law applies to owners of apartments in apartment buildings that have been damaged by hostilities, terrorist attacks, or sabotage as a result of Russian aggression. This applies to cases where the housing cannot be used or poses a danger to residents.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The document stipulates that a fee for managing a building is not charged if it is damaged and uninhabitable. Owners of destroyed housing are exempted from certain utility payments until the facility is restored.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If the housing is completely destroyed and cannot be restored, the accrual of payments is suspended. The accrual of real estate tax is also suspended until a corresponding decision is made.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The fact of damage and the terms of restoration will be determined on the basis of special inspection reports. They will be the basis for stopping or resuming charges.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The provisions of the law will be in effect throughout the martial law and for another year after its end.<\/p>\n
