The United States is considering a deal with Iran to exchange enriched uranium for the release of financial assets. The parties are discussing the details of the agreement, including the terms of control over the nuclear program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that one of the key priorities of the administration of US President Donald Trump is to prevent Iran from accessing its stockpile of enriched uranium, estimated at almost 2,000 kg, including about 450 kg with an enrichment level of up to 60%.<\/p>\n

As part of the negotiations, the option of unblocking about $20 billion for Iran in exchange for resolving the issue with these reserves is being considered.<\/p>\n

The parties continue to discuss what exactly will happen to the uranium and under what conditions Iran will be able to use the funds.<\/p>\n

The American side has proposed exporting uranium to the United States, but Iran insists on processing it on its own territory. As a compromise, the option of partial export to a third country and partial dilution under international control is being considered.<\/p>\n

Separately, the possibility of Iran voluntarily limiting its uranium enrichment for a specified period is being discussed. The US insists on 20 years, while Iran proposes 5 years.<\/p>\n

Also, within the framework of a potential memorandum, Iran may be allowed to use nuclear research reactors to produce medical isotopes, provided that all nuclear facilities are above ground and existing underground facilities remain inactive.<\/p>\n

The negotiations also cover the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, but the parties have not yet reached full agreement on this issue.<\/p>\n

It is expected that the next round of talks could take place in Islamabad.<\/p>\n
