The main goal is to obtain data on the behavior of flames in lunar gravity to improve the safety of manned missions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.clickpetroleoegas.com.br\/nasa-will-ignite-a-fire-on-the-moon-in-an-unprecedented-test-by-the-end-of-2026-and-measure-flames-in-lunar-gravity-to-enhance-the-safety-of-ctl01\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CPG<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> This is the &#8220;Material Flammability on the Moon&#8221; (FM2) experiment, which plans to ignite 4 solid fuel samples and record the combustion characteristics in partial gravity. The data obtained should become the basis for assessing fire safety during space missions.<\/p>\n<p> NASA notes that there is currently no complete database on the flammability of materials outside of Earth, and the experiment will allow us to move from theoretical models to practical measurements.<\/p>\n<p> On Earth, the shape of a flame is formed by gravity as hot gases rise upward.
