The Joint Forces Group reported on the situation in the Sumy region amid claims of a possible “semi-encirclement” of the city of Sumy. According to the military, Russian troops were able to occupy only a few border settlements, and the distance to the regional center exceeds 35 km.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The military noted that they are responsible for the defense of the southern part of the Sumy region and are monitoring the situation.<\/p>\n

According to them, as a result of months of attempts, Russian troops were able to advance only within the border zone and occupy individual settlements.<\/p>\n

Such settlements include Grabovske and Myropilske.<\/p>\n

The report emphasizes that the occupiers’ depth of control in the border zone is up to 3-4 km.<\/p>\n

“We ask you to take this into account when assessing the prospects of ‘surrounding the city from the east,” the Joint Forces Group noted.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the military emphasized that all enemy attempts to penetrate deep into Ukrainian territory are detected and stopped in a timely manner.<\/p>\n

“The occupiers will not succeed, and let them keep their ‘dreams’ of any ‘encirclement’ and ‘encirclement’ to themselves,” the military reported.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Russian occupation forces had local success in two areas in the border regions of the Sumy region.<\/a><\/p>\n

The day before, in the Sumy region, enemy advances were recorded in several areas<\/a>: near Myropilske, Maryino, and Novodmytrivka.<\/p>\n
