During the court hearing for the murder of Irina Farion,<\/span><\/span> suspect Vyacheslav Zinchenko<\/span><\/span> stated that he had gone on a hunger strike and attempted suicide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Judge Petr Nevoit, the court received a motion noting that Zinchenko declared a hunger strike on April 20 due to an alleged violation of his constitutional rights. The suspect himself claims he began his hunger strike on April 17, but this was not recorded over the weekend.<\/p>\n

He also stated that he tried to hang himself with a sweater in his cell.<\/p>\n

Zinchenko requested a postponement of the hearing due to his health, but the court decided to continue the hearing in the presence of a doctor. The judge noted that the suspect had consciously decided to go on a hunger strike and was in a condition to participate in the proceedings at the beginning of the hearing.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on March 5, a trial was held in Lviv for the murder<\/a> of linguist Iryna Farion, resulting in the suspect, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, being remanded in custody for another 60 days.<\/p>\n
