Ireland is gradually winding down the free accommodation program for Ukrainian refugees, forcing people to look for housing on their own or move to other regions of the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the Irish Independent.<\/p>\n

In particular, hotels in County Kerry have begun to return to the tourism business after completing more than 90 contracts to accommodate Ukrainians. Previously, these facilities were used for temporary accommodation of displaced people under the state support program.<\/p>\n

After the contracts expire, some Ukrainians are forced to urgently look for new housing, as the centralized housing system is gradually shrinking.<\/p>\n

Local journalists note that this is part of Ireland’s nationwide policy to wind down temporary resettlement programs that have been in place since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a result, hotels and other facilities previously used to accommodate refugees are returning to the tourism sector, and the pressure on the rental market is increasing.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the leader of the Czech opposition populist movement “Freedom and Direct Democracy” and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Tomio Okamura, called for the termination of the temporary protection program and financial support for Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Norway is changing the rules for Ukrainian refugees – men aged 18-60 will no longer receive collective protection.<\/a><\/p>\n
