Military Ombudsman Olga Reshetylova proposed limiting the time soldiers spend in combat positions after studying their psychological state. According to her, prolonged stay on the front line leads to a loss of motivation and efficiency.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Reshetylova spoke about the preliminary results of a large-scale study on the psychological state of military personnel during long stays in positions.<\/p>\n

“We can see that after 40 days, a person becomes indifferent whether he survives or not – he becomes completely apathetic. Every commander should take this information into account. Anything longer than 40 days cannot be effective,” said Olga Reshetylova.<\/p>\n

She recalled that the order of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi provides for a maximum period of military stay in positions of up to 15 days, but this norm, according to her, is not being followed in practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is a dead norm that no one adheres to, which, in turn, leads to the fact that there are no restrictions at all. And some commanders do not feel responsible for the fact that their fighters sit in dugouts and basements in semi-encirclement for a year or more,\u201d Olga Reshetylova noted.<\/p>\n

She emphasized the need to establish realistic deadlines for completing combat missions for infantry and assault units directly on the front line.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Office of the Military Ombudsman is preparing proposals to the Commander-in-Chief to change the instructions for staying in positions,\u201d Olga Reshetylova noted.<\/p>\n

Earlier, reports appeared online about a critical<\/a> situation with the provision of soldiers of the 14th separate mechanized brigade, who, according to the authors of the posts, were losing consciousness from hunger and drinking rainwater.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, instructed to conduct an inspection of the logistical support of the military performing tasks on the front line of defense.<\/a><\/div>\n
