In Kyiv, police detained a man who was walking down the street with a gun while intoxicated and scaring passersby.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the National Police.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on Verkhovna Rada Boulevard. Eyewitnesses contacted the police, reporting that an unknown man was openly carrying a weapon.<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement officials, the first person to notice him was a woman passing by. She saw the 31-year-old Kyiv resident with a gun in his hand and became frightened, after which she turned to the group of men nearby.<\/p>\n

“Seriously frightened, the Kyiv woman turned to the company of men,” the police noted.<\/p>\n

However, when passersby made remarks, the man began to behave aggressively: he swore, reloaded his weapon, and even pointed it at people.<\/p>\n

The police quickly detained the offender. He was tested for intoxication – a Draeger device showed 2.26 ppm of alcohol in his blood. <\/p>\n

During the search, an air pistol was seized from the man. He was reported on suspicion of hooliganism. <\/p>\n

“Detectives informed him of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – gross violation of public order with particular impudence,” the police report said.<\/p>\n

This article provides for a penalty of up to five years of imprisonment.<\/p>\n
