After the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the single decision-making center in Iran effectively disappeared, and key influence shifted to the military leadership and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Reuters, citing a senior Pakistani government official familiar with the negotiations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, after two months of war with the US and Israel, the governance system in Iran has changed significantly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Previously, the supreme leader had the final say on key issues, but after Khamenei’s death on the first day of the conflict, this model began to collapse.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Formally, his son Mojtaba Khamenei is now at the top of power, however, according to sources, he mostly only legitimizes decisions that have already been made.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The main initiatives, according to Reuters sources, come not from him, but from the military.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The greatest influence now lies with a narrow circle connected to the Supreme National Security Council, the office of the Supreme Leader, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It is the IRGC that today determines not only military strategy, but also political decisions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Because of this, negotiations with the US are progressing very slowly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Pakistani official noted that the Iranian side may respond to proposals in two to three days, as there is no unified command structure that makes decisions quickly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the diplomatic level, negotiations are being led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, as well as Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who was previously associated with the IRGC.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, according to sources, an important role in actual management is played by the corps commander, Ahmad Vahidi.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mojtaba Khamenei himself, after being seriously injured, does not appear in public and communicates through IRGC representatives or protected communication channels.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Official Tehran denies any disagreements regarding negotiations with the United States.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
