On Wednesday, April 29, the Ukrainian military attacked the sanctioned tanker \u201cMARQUISE\u201d in the Black Sea. The operation was carried out by units of the Ukrainian Navy using kamikaze sea drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the General Staff.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the ship was without cargo and was drifting approximately 210 km southeast of the Russian city of Tuapse.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe attack was carried out in the aft part, in the area of the propeller-steering group and the engine room,\u201d the military noted.<\/p>\n

According to their data, the tanker was not sending an AIS signal and was probably expecting to transship oil from another vessel right at sea.<\/p>\n

The General Staff emphasizes that the vessel is under sanctions by Ukraine and a number of other countries and was used for the illegal transportation of petroleum products.<\/p>\n

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue to take systematic measures to stop the armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” the military emphasized.<\/p>\n

The extent of damage to the tanker is currently being determined.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the morning of Wednesday, April 29, there was a lot of noise in several cities in the Russian Federation. In Perm and Orsk, local residents heard explosions and reported possible air defense operations.<\/a><\/p>\n
