The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to terminate the \u201cNational Cashback\u201d. The corresponding resolution was posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The government is closing the “National Cashback” program, which was aimed at supporting domestic manufacturers. Starting May 1, accruals under the “National Cashback” program will cease, Dialog.UA<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Previously accrued funds can be used until June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n

They will be allowed to be used to pay for a certain list of goods and services, including food, medicines, housing and communal services, postal services, as well as for making charitable contributions.<\/p>\n

The National Cashback program was launched in 2024 and was supposed to be a stimulus for the development of the domestic economy, but it did not provide the expected results.<\/p>\n

Closing the program will allow the authorities to redirect funds to more priority needs, including strengthening funding for the defense sector and accelerating the restoration of the country’s infrastructure.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine used more than 78% of the reserve fund<\/a> intended for emergency situations, directing a significant part to social payments, including the \u201cNational Cashback\u201d program. Political scientist Kateryna Roshuk criticized this approach to public administration on the air of \u201cPryamoy\u201d, emphasizing the inappropriateness of populist programs in the midst of war.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture reported on the costs of the \u201cCashback for Fuel\u201d program in Ukraine. Daily payments to Ukrainians amount to about UAH 20 million<\/a> , which are directed to specific needs. The government emphasizes that the program is in demand among the population.<\/p>\n
