The Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reacted to new materials in the “Midas” case and stated about possible connections between former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, businessman Timur Mindich, and the Fire Point company.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The council noted that serious, although not officially confirmed, data has now emerged in society.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public has received unverified but significant evidence of connections between Umerov, Mindich, and the Fire Point company,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

According to anti-corruption authorities, Mindich can be considered the actual owner of this company.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll evidence indicates that Timur Mindich is either one of the beneficiaries or the only true beneficiary of the company,\u201d the council noted.<\/p>\n

If the court confirms this, Fire Point may lose the right to supply products to the Defense Forces, as Mindich is under sanctions.<\/p>\n

There are also suspicions that the company may have provided false information about its owners.<\/p>\n

“We have a complex, multi-layered problem: de jure Mindich has no relation to the company, but de facto society has already become convinced of these connections,” the GAR emphasized.<\/p>\n

The statement also drew attention to the risks for the army, as Fire Point products are actively used on the front. At the same time, the council emphasized that it is important not only to ensure supplies, but also to avoid corruption risks.<\/p>\n

They also stated that Umerov’s actions may contain signs of abuse of power and disclosure of state secrets, and Mindich’s actions may contain signs of abuse of influence.<\/p>\n

In this regard, the Anti-Corruption Council called for specific solutions.<\/p>\n

“We call for the immediate removal of Rustem Umerov from the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council,” the council said.<\/p>\n

In addition, they propose to consider partial nationalization of the Fire Point company to ensure stable supplies for the army without the risk of enriching individuals involved in possible abuses.<\/p>\n

The council added that they are ready to join in finding a solution to this situation.<\/p>\n

These are conversations recorded in the summer of 2025 in the apartment of businessman Timur Mindich, who is called a defendant in the energy corruption case.<\/p>\n

As reported, the head of the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on anti-corruption, Oleksiy Honcharenko, summoned former first assistant to the president, Serhiy Shefir, to a meeting of the commission to give testimony in the “Midas” case.<\/a><\/p>\n
