Ukrainian pensioners can count on an increase in pension payments through the appointment of various allowances and additional payments upon reaching the appropriate age.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by the PFU<\/a> .<\/p>\n

“For persons who have reached the age of 65, the minimum amount of the old-age pension is set at 40% of the minimum wage determined by the Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for the relevant year, but not less than the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work,” the PFU indicates.<\/p>\n

Currently, the minimum wage is 8,647 hryvnias. Accordingly, the minimum pension is 3,458.80 hryvnias. It is also worth noting that the subsistence minimum for disabled persons is currently 2,595 hryvnias.<\/p>\n

This rule, however, is somewhat at odds with the real figures. After the March indexation, according to the PFU, the minimum pension for a full year of service at 65 years cannot be less than 4,213 hryvnias.<\/p>\n

Individuals over the age of 70 can expect additional benefits depending on their age.<\/p>\n

As of today, the amounts of these surcharges are:<\/p>\n

– for persons aged 70 to 74 years old – 300 hryvnias;<\/p>\n

– for persons aged 75 to 79 years old – 456 hryvnias;<\/p>\n

– after reaching the age of 80, the payment increases to 570 hryvnias.<\/p>\n

However, to receive this supplement, it is not enough to simply reach the appropriate age. The person’s total monthly pension payment must be less than 10,340.35 hryvnia.<\/p>\n

The age supplement to the pension is accrued automatically, and there is no need to contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine to receive it.<\/p>\n

It is important to pay attention to some key points regarding the calculation of age-based surcharges.<\/p>\n

In the month in which the person reaches the relevant age, the supplement is calculated in proportion to the number of days after the birthday. For example, if the birthday falls on the 20th, the supplement will only be calculated for the last 10 days of the month.<\/p>\n

It is worth adding that in Ukraine, monthly pension supplements are provided for women who have raised 5 or more children in 2026.<\/a> The amount of the supplement may exceed 1,000 hryvnias, but it is not calculated automatically.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind you that in Ukraine, disability pension payments for certain categories of citizens may be suspended from April 1.<\/a> The main reason is failure to undergo a repeated medical examination within the established time frame.<\/p>\n
