In Odessa, a soldier released from Russian captivity, Dmytro Kashchuk, reported being kidnapped and beaten by people he associates with the CCC and the Joint Venture. The Odessa Regional CCC reported that they are conducting an official check and establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said this on the air of the channel “USI:Odessa”<\/a> .<\/p>\n

According to Dmytro Kashchuk, minibuses drove up to him, after which unknown persons forcibly took the keys from the car and dragged him into the cabin. The veteran claims that during the trip he was physically assaulted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were beating me from behind. One stood in the aisle wearing gloves and shouted to the other all the way: “Let’s put him in the ###bemo now!”,\u201d said Dmytro Kashchuk.<\/p>\n

He also stated that he did not expect such treatment upon his return from captivity.<\/p>\n

“I suffered stress there. But it’s understandable there. Well, here I didn’t expect that I would come out of the front door and be thrown into a car and beaten, even though I have everything on my phone,” the veteran noted.<\/p>\n

According to journalists, Kashchuk volunteered for the front in 2023, fought in the Donetsk direction, and was captured by the Russians. He returned to Ukraine during an exchange in May 2025.<\/p>\n

The Odessa Regional CCC and the Joint Venture reported<\/a> that Dmytro Kashchuk’s statement regarding alleged illegal actions was received on April 23, 2026. They stated that the inspection is ongoing in accordance with legislative procedures and deadlines.<\/p>\n

The department noted that as part of the official investigation, they are identifying persons and vehicles that may have been involved in the incident.<\/p>\n

“Since, according to the applicant’s description, the participants in the event were wearing balaclavas and without identification marks, the issue of their affiliation with the CCC and SP units is the subject of an official investigation,” the Odessa Regional CCC and SP reported.<\/p>\n

The department also announced cooperation with law enforcement agencies to establish all the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n

“We have deep respect for the defenders of Ukraine, in particular those who went through captivity. The consideration of this application is under special control,” the CCK noted.<\/p>\n

The Odessa Regional CCC and the SP added that if the guilt is confirmed, the officials will be held responsible in accordance with the law. The department also called on the media to refrain from spreading unconfirmed information until the investigation is completed.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that in the Carpathian region, a court sentenced a CCC employee who, after mobilization, hit a man and broke his rib<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Previously, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed an investigation into a CCC official and a military serviceman involved in the death of a man during the transportation of mobilized personnel.<\/a><\/p>\n
