Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a reduction in the supply of Russian oil on the world market could lead to an increase in prices and, accordingly, revenues for Moscow.

He said this in an interview with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.

The Ukrainian side views attacks on the oil industry as a tool to weaken Russia’s financial capabilities to wage war, but Peskov claims that the reduction in exports can be offset by rising oil prices.

“In the conditions of an extremely acute energy crisis due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, there is much less oil on the market than there should be. And if additional quantities of our oil are removed from the market, prices will become higher than they are now, and they are currently over $120,” Peskov said.

According to him, in such a situation, Russia would supposedly be able to compensate for losses through more expensive raw materials.

“Therefore, in this regard, let’s say, our interests will be secured,” Peskov added.

As is known, in April Ukraine actively attacked refineries in Russia, in particular , there were hits on the oil refinery in Tuapse . After the drone strikes, a fire broke out at the enterprise , and a state of emergency was introduced in the region.

Recall that on Wednesday morning, April 29, there was a lot of noise in several cities of the Russian Federation. In Perm and Orsk, local residents heard explosions and reported the possible work of air defense. As it became known later, the Security Service of Ukraine reported the destruction of an oil pumping station near the city of Perm (Russia), more than 1,500 km from the state border of Ukraine.

By the way, on the night of Thursday, April 23, explosions and fires broke out at industrial facilities in several regions of Russia. These include the Gorky oil pumping station in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, and the oil refinery in Novokuybyshevsk, Samara region.

As reported, on the night of April 22, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of important Russian facilities, in particular the Black Sea Fleet ship traffic control point “Streletsky” in Sevastopol.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Russia is trying to present the Ukrainian attacks on oil infrastructure as a factor that supposedly works in favor of the Russian economy.
