Russia is changing its combat tactics in the war against Ukraine, abandoning mass assaults and moving to small sabotage groups. This is happening against the backdrop of heavy personnel losses and the dominance of drones on the battlefield.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to analysts and military experts, Russia is gradually moving away from the so-called “meat assault” tactics, when large groups of infantry went on a massive attack with high casualties.<\/p>\n

Instead, Russian units increasingly operate in small groups of 2\u20134 soldiers, moving on foot, mostly at night and without active radio communication.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of large numbers of Russian soldiers moving openly as \u2018living targets,\u2019 the current tactic involves slow, covert infiltration through weak spots on the front line,\u201d said analyst Keir Giles.<\/p>\n

According to experts, such groups are trying to penetrate the rear of Ukrainian positions and establish themselves there, waiting for reinforcements for further actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are trying to bypass fortified positions and infiltrate deeper into the defense,\u201d noted analyst Anton Zemlyanyi.<\/p>\n

Military analysts also note that such groups are more difficult to detect due to the widespread use of drones and electronic warfare equipment on the front.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey advance several groups of 1-4 soldiers at intervals, identifying assembly points for further attack,\u201d said researcher Sam Cranney-Evans.<\/p>\n

According to think tanks, Russian attacks are now more often carried out by small units, rather than in large assault waves as they used to be. Despite the change in tactics, experts emphasize that Russian army losses remain high and advances are limited and slow.<\/p>\n
