President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held meetings in Yerevan with Prime Ministers of Norway Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re and Finland Petteri Orpo. During the talks, the parties discussed strengthening air defense, the implementation of the “Drone Deal”, defense support, and Ukraine’s energy security.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re, the President of Ukraine thanked Oslo for its support for Ukraine, in particular for contributions to the PURL program amounting to almost $1 billion.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, Russia continues to launch ballistic missile strikes, so timely funding of the program remains important for Ukrainian defense.<\/p>\n

The parties also discussed the strategic partnership between the states, in particular the implementation of the “Drone Deal”, strengthening air defense, and cooperation between the public and private sectors. Special attention was paid during the negotiations to energy support for Ukraine before the winter season.<\/p>\n

“I informed about our needs, in particular regarding natural gas, for the next winter. Ukraine must definitely enter it prepared,” Zelensky said.<\/p>\n

The president also met with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and thanked Helsinki for its decision to allocate an additional $300 million for defense support to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, the parties discussed priority areas for strengthening Ukrainian defense, primarily in the field of air defense. The President of Ukraine also proposed to Finland to strengthen bilateral partnership by signing an agreement in the “Drone Deal” format.<\/p>\n

“Ukraine is ready to share expertise and strengthen those who have been strengthening us from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion,” Zelensky said.<\/p>\n

Separately, the parties discussed international cooperation and issues of Ukraine’s European integration.<\/p>\n

“Right now there is a good window of opportunity to open negotiation clusters, and Ukraine fully deserves it,” Zelenskyy noted.<\/p>\n

Recall that on April 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re signed a declaration on defense partnership.<\/a><\/p>\n
