France does not approve of a simplified process for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. French President Emmanuel<\/strong> Macron<\/strong> proposed “symbolic accession of Ukraine to the EU.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Minister Delegate for European Affairs Benjamin Addadi, there can be no “shortcut.” However, he emphasized that France fully supports the gradual “rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU.” He emphasized that Ukraine’s accession to the EU is a gradual and lengthy process that takes time.<\/p>\n

“For Ukraine, as for Moldova and the Western Balkan countries, integration into the European Union is a long-term process requiring reforms, particularly in the areas of anti-corruption, rule of law, and judicial independence,” he commented. He also insisted that when it comes to EU values and legislation, there can be no exceptions. However, rapprochement between Ukraine and other EU countries is a geopolitical necessity.<\/p>\n\t\t
