The creation of a special fund for military levies has once again become a political issue, as the monomajority ignores bills from opposition factions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by the People’s Deputy from the “European Solidarity” faction, Nina Yuzhanina, on the air of “Pryamoy”<\/strong> .<\/p>\n

She recalled that the EU faction, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has been demanding the targeted use of military levies exclusively for the Armed Forces of Ukraine through a special fund, and the ruling party is now trying to present this as its own merit.<\/p>\n

“A secret meeting of the budget committee – I absolutely do not understand why it happened this way, because there are several draft laws on the creation of a special fund for transferring military levies and distributing the special fund between programs of the Ministry of Defense. There is the same draft law registered by Holos, there are two draft laws registered by European Solidarity. I even see the guilt of the head of the budget committee here, she should have insisted that all projects be considered together. All factions and groups should have been invited regarding their projects on directing military levies to the special fund,” Yuzhanina emphasized.<\/p>\n

“On the one hand, we are glad that our struggle over the course of four budgets, which were adopted during a large-scale war, worked and yielded results. But we need to see further whether the financial support for the military will really increase, or whether it will remain at the same level, only it will be paid not from the general fund, but from a special fund,” Yuzhanina noted.<\/p>\n

“It is absolutely obvious that from a political point of view, for example, the projects of other groups and factions were not considered. This is bad. The good thing is that we have moved this issue from its place,” said Yuzhanina.<\/p>\n

As is known, the European Solidarity faction has registered the relevant bills 15177<\/a> and 15138-1<\/a> , which allow for an increase in payments to Ukrainian defenders starting in the second half of this year.<\/p>\n

As Petro Poroshenko previously stated<\/a> , funds from military government bonds should also go exclusively to a special fund for defense needs. “Because when a Ukrainian, an individual, a legal entity goes to buy military bonds, he sincerely believes that in this way he is supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But it turns out that he is being fooled,” Poroshenko was indignant.<\/p>\n

“European Solidarity” also insists that at least 20% of the so-called military personal income tax, which the authorities once withdrew from community budgets, be returned directly to the brigades’ accounts: “the authorities took these funds from local budgets, took these funds from the brigades and sent them to Mr. Mindich, sent them to corrupt people so that they could further line their pockets. The government is not going to draw conclusions from Mindichgate. And we, “European Solidarity”, will insist that the participants in these Mindich records be released, held accountable, and financial flows be redistributed to the brigades, and not fuel corruption,” Poroshenko emphasized.<\/p>\n
