Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Ulyutin held talks with European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner regarding the future of Ukrainians in the EU after the end of temporary protection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the Judicial and Legal Newspaper.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the parties focused on the risks of the end of the temporary protection regime after March 2027. They discussed how to avoid legal uncertainty and different approaches to Ukrainians in the European Union countries.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ulyutin stressed that Ukraine is betting on the voluntary return of citizens. According to him, the key role is played by the security situation, which depends on events on the front and the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainians should receive clear and legal conditions for their stay in the EU until safe conditions for return are created.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Separately, the minister raised the issue of obtaining up-to-date data on Ukrainians under temporary protection in EU countries. This primarily concerns taking into account vulnerable categories, which will allow the state to plan a return policy and prepare communities.<\/p>\n

The parties also discussed legal migration, the integration of Ukrainians into the labor markets of EU countries, and the preservation of human capital for the reconstruction of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Ulyutin noted that the first support center for Ukrainians, Unity Hub, in Berlin, is already showing high demand: in two weeks, specialists have provided almost 500 consultations.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that from May, Ukrainians in Poland who have PESEL UKR status will be able to apply for a new CUKR residence permit.<\/a> <\/p>\n
