On May 7 and 8, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of military and fuel facilities in Russia and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Among the targets hit were the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery, the Kedrovka Armory, fuel depots, communications hubs, and air defense systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The General Staff announced that Ukrainian units hit the Yaroslavl oil refinery<\/strong> in the Yaroslavl region of the Russian Federation. A fire was recorded on the territory of the enterprise, and the extent of the damage is currently being determined.<\/p>\n

According to the military, the Yaroslavl Refinery is one of the key enterprises in the Russian oil refining industry. The plant’s capacity is about 15 million tons of oil per year, and its products include gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian forces also attacked a drone storage facility in Rostov-on-Don<\/strong> , after which a fire broke out at the facility.<\/p>\n

In addition, the General Staff reported the destruction of the Luhansk oil depot<\/strong> in Luhansk and fuel and lubricants warehouses<\/strong> in the Petropavlivka and Novomykilske districts in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.<\/p>\n

Separately, Ukrainian military personnel struck an enemy repair unit<\/strong> in Rovenky, and communication hubs<\/strong> in the areas of Zelenopol, Novomykhailivka, and Kinske Rozdoriv, Zaporizhia region.<\/p>\n

The targets also included the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system<\/strong> in the Mykhailivka area of Zaporizhia region and the Kasta-2E radar station<\/strong> in the Mysovoye area in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.<\/p>\n

The General Staff also confirmed the destruction of the production buildings of the “Ya.M. Sverdlov Plant”<\/strong> in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation on April 30, 2026.<\/p>\n

The report notes that the company is one of the largest producers of explosives in Russia and supplies aviation and artillery ammunition, as well as high-explosive aerial bombs.<\/p>\n

In addition, a hit on April 25, 2026, in the arsenal building of the Kedrovka GRU<\/strong> in the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation was confirmed.<\/p>\n

Also in May 2026, the infrastructure of the Bryansk Chemical Plant<\/strong> in the city of Seltso, Bryansk Oblast, Russia, was hit. The General Staff emphasized that the enterprise is an important component of the Russian military-industrial complex and provides the Russian army with ammunition.<\/p>\n
