On the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, Petro Poroshenko said<\/a> in a video address that racism is a modern version of a misanthropic ideology that continues to kill and destroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Behind my back is military equipment from World War II. And in front of us are Russian armored personnel carriers, GRADs, and infantry fighting vehicles from the 5th year of the 12-year war. This Russian filth was defeated by the Ukrainian military, because it was brought to our holy Ukrainian land by the Russian occupiers. Muscovy’s war against Ukraine has been going on longer than the Soviet-German war. “Repeat” is not possible. For the fifth year they have been planning a parade in Kyiv, and now they are asking Kyiv for permission to hold a festive demonstration in Moscow,” the fifth President states.<\/p>\n

“We know the price of war not from archival footage, feature films, or black-and-white photographs. We know it from the sounds of sirens in the middle of the night, from trenches and trenches on our land, from children’s rooms, destroyed houses, and from cemeteries that have grown up in every Ukrainian city over the years,” says the leader of the “EU”.<\/p>\n

“Today the world will say again – never again. But for us this is not just a historical slogan. This is not an inscription on a memorial. This is a matter of life and death of the Ukrainian people. That is why at one time our team made a principled, historical decision to abandon that Soviet day and move on to the European tradition of Remembrance Day. Because there is an abyss between memory and the cult of war. Europe after 1945 made the main conclusion. War is a tragedy that cannot be romanticized, cannot be turned into a show, cannot be raised to be fascinated by death and violence. And there are peoples who, after the war, said – never again. Never again. And there is a regime that said – “we can repeat it”. This is the Russian, Putin’s regime,” Poroshenko says. <\/p>\n
