Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/span><\/span> announced that Ukraine and Russia are preparing a major \u201c1000 for 1000\u201d prisoner exchange, with both sides already handing over the lists. According to Zelenskyy, the United States has guaranteed the implementation of the agreements and is helping oversee the exchange process.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters has already handed over lists to the Russian side for the exchange.<\/p>\n

“A prisoner exchange of a thousand for a thousand is being prepared and must be carried out. The Americans took on these guarantees. The Ukrainian coordination headquarters handed over the lists of a thousand to the Russian side,” the president of Ukraine said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also emphasized that the agreement on the exchange was reached through the United States’ mediation.<\/p>\n

“There was American mediation in this exchange agreement. Accordingly, we expect that the American side will be active in ensuring the implementation of these agreements,” Zelensky added.<\/p>\n

The president emphasized that Ukraine continues to work on the return of all citizens from Russian captivity.<\/p>\n

As noted, the exchange in the “1000 for 1000” format could be one of the largest since the start of the full-scale war. The parties are currently preparing for it, but the exact dates have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n

Recall that US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of a 3-day ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, the cessation of hostilities will last on May 9, 10, and 11. According to the US president, the ceasefire will provide for a complete cessation of hostilities and an exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each side.<\/a><\/p>\n
