US President Donald Trump is increasingly frustrated with the progress of negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program and a possible end to the war. His administration is already seriously discussing a scenario involving the resumption of large-scale hostilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> CNN, citing sources close to the American president.<\/p>\n

According to the channel’s interlocutors, Trump is dissatisfied with Tehran’s position and considers the latest responses from the Iranian side unacceptable.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump called Iran\u2019s response completely unacceptable and stupid,\u201d the sources note.<\/p>\n

The White House is also concerned that the negotiations are dragging on, and there is no unified position within the Iranian leadership regarding possible concessions on the issue of the nuclear program.<\/p>\n

As CNN reports, the US administration currently lacks a unified vision for further action. Some officials, including in the Pentagon, are advocating for tougher pressure on Iran, including possible targeted strikes on targets that could weaken Tehran’s position.<\/p>\n

At the same time, other administration representatives are calling for not abandoning the diplomatic path and giving negotiations another chance.<\/p>\n

There is particular discontent in Washington over Pakistan’s role in mediating between the parties. Some American officials doubt that the Pakistani side is fully conveying Trump’s tough stance to Iran.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Trump held another meeting with his national security team at the White House the day before to discuss further US steps towards Iran. No final decisions have been made yet.<\/p>\n

Recall that the US and Iran may soon agree on a basic agreement<\/a> that should stop tensions in the region and open the way to full-fledged negotiations on the nuclear program.<\/p>\n

As reported, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the end of the military operation against Iran, called Epic Fury, which had been ongoing since February.<\/a><\/p>\n
