On May 12, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court did not impose a preventive measure on the former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This became known from the broadcast of the court session, which was hosted by “Pryamiy”.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Yermak’s lawyer Igor Fomin asked to postpone the hearing because the defense did not have time to familiarize itself with the case materials.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, the investigation handed over 16 volumes of materials to the defense – an average of 250 pages each – just 3-4 hours before the start of the hearing.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Because of this, the defense insisted on postponing the hearing for a detailed study of the documents.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As of 4:35 p.m., it became known that the court would not choose a preventive measure for Yermak on May 12.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, the hearing partially continues – the prosecution presents its evidence and case materials.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In addition, both the defense and the prosecution asked the court to hold part of the hearing behind closed doors due to the presence of classified materials and documents.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At some point, journalists will be asked to leave the courtroom.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Andriy Yermak is suspected under Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – legalization of property obtained by crime, in especially large amounts or by an organized group.<\/p>\n

Previously, “Pryamiy” reported<\/a> that on May 11, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted investigative actions against the former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak. <\/p>\n

The NABU and the SAPO have also completed an investigation<\/a> into a large-scale case of alleged corruption in the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment for defense purposes. The case materials have now been opened for review by the defense.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not appear and does not appear in the case of the legalization of 460 million hryvnias for the construction of elite cottages near Kyiv.<\/a><\/p>\n
