The US Treasury Department has extended the sanctions exemption for Russian oil transported by sea for another 30 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The previous permit expired on Saturday, May 16, but Washington decided to grant an additional extension for another month.<\/p>\n

According to the agency’s source, this decision was made after appeals from several states, which asked for more time to purchase Russian oil.<\/p>\n

This is specifically about oil that is transported by sea and is subject to American sanctions restrictions.<\/p>\n

A Reuters source noted that the US took this step due to the risks of oil shortages on the global market and a possible further increase in prices.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the agency notes that the extension of this exception has not yet yielded any noticeable results in stabilizing gasoline prices in the United States itself.<\/p>\n
