The Moscow Oil Refinery temporarily stopped oil processing after a drone attack that occurred on May 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the agency’s source, the strikes did not damage the company’s critical equipment, but the plant’s operations were suspended for safety reasons.<\/p>\n

It is expected that it may take several days to restore full operation.<\/p>\n

Previously, Moscow authorities reported drone crashes near the enterprise’s territory.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 12 people were injured in the attack, most of whom were construction workers near the factory’s entrance gate.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, according to him, the main technological capacities of the refinery remained intact.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Moscow Oil Refinery is located in the southeast of the Russian capital and is considered one of the key enterprises that provide fuel to Moscow and the region.<\/p>\n

The plant belongs to Gazpromneft.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Reuters, the company processed about 11.6 million tons of oil in 2024. The plant also produced 2.9 million tons of gasoline and 3.2 million tons of diesel fuel.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces, struck a military-industrial complex enterprise and a number of oil facilities in the Moscow region<\/a> , as well as the Belbek military airfield in Crimea.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced strikes on a number of facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region<\/a> , including a refinery, an oil depot, and a microelectronics production facility.<\/p>\n
