On the night of Wednesday, May 20, drones attacked the city of Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Territory of Russia. The strike likely hit the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant, causing a fire in the industrial zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian Telegram channels and local authorities.<\/p>\n

According to residents, a series of explosions were heard in the city, and air defenses were working in the sky. In the evening, the Stavropol Territory announced the threat of a drone attack, and residents of Nevinnomyssk were urged to stay in shelters.<\/p>\n

Nevinnomyssk Mayor Mykhailo Minenkov confirmed the drone attack.<\/p>\n

“The attack by enemy drones targeted the city’s industrial zone,” the official said.<\/p>\n

He also reported on the “air battle” and the operation of air defense systems.<\/p>\n

Local residents reported a fire at an industrial facility. In addition, the city’s internet was temporarily shut down after midnight.<\/p>\n

This is the second attack on Nevinnomyssk Azot in the past few days. The previous one took place on May 16.<\/p>\n

The plant is part of the EuroChem group of Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko and is one of the largest chemical enterprises in southern Russia. Formally, the enterprise produces fertilizers and chemical products, but OSINT analysts note that some of the products are used for the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.<\/p>\n

In particular, the enterprise produces components that can be used in the manufacture of explosives and ammunition.<\/p>\n

In addition, that same night, drones attacked the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation. According to Russian public sources, the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Kstovo may have been hit.<\/p>\n

Local residents reported explosions and fires after the drones flew over. Due to the attack, schoolchildren in the Kstovsky district were transferred to distance learning.<\/p>\n

According to OSINT analysts, the damage could have been caused to the ELOU-AVT installation, one of the key primary oil processing facilities at the refinery.<\/p>\n
