Russia Widens Grounds for Foreign Deployments

“And this may happen in the near future. There is a lot of talk about this now, and there are prerequisites for this. Starting with Trump’s policy, which makes it clear that the US will not participate in the defense of its allies in the North Atlantic Alliance in any case. And this coincides with Putin’s desire to actually dismantle NATO and undermine the unity of the EU,” the expert emphasized.

He also added that such an opportunity could open up for the Kremlin as early as this year and last until the US elections. After that, Trump could lose some of his influence in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

“Therefore, this threat is now growing for European countries. And all these factors indicate that Putin may be looking for a pretext to launch a hybrid operation, in particular against NATO member states, primarily the Baltic states,” explained Denys Popovych.

According to him, Russia may consider various scenarios for invading European countries. In particular, it may be a scenario similar to the seizure of Crimea and part of Donbas in 2014, because Putin does not need a large number of ground troops for this.

Earlier , ” Pryamiy” reported that a number of Estonian politicians stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s words about Russia’s possible preparation for an attack on the Baltic countries do not contribute to cooperation.

At the same time, Russia is purposefully pushing the topic of a possible invasion of the Baltic states through Western media, trying to influence the information space and question NATO’s readiness to respond.

A number of European countries have also agreed to develop a joint plan for evacuating the population across land borders in the event of war.

Representatives of 10 countries — Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Germany, and Sweden — have signed an agreement on the protection of civilians in the Baltic Sea region and Northern Europe.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Russia may attack NATO countries in the near future.
