Oil refineries in Moscow<\/span><\/span> and Ryazan<\/span><\/span> temporarily shut down following attacks by Ukrainian drones on May 15 and 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the agency, the Ukrainian drone did not cause significant damage to the Moscow Oil Refinery<\/span><\/span> , but oil refining at the plant was stopped “to reduce risks.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin<\/span><\/span> stated that 12 people, mostly construction workers, were injured in the drone attack. He added that the plant’s operations “remain unchanged.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Reuters notes that in 2024, the Moscow Oil Refinery processed 11.6 million tons of crude oil and produced 2.9 million tons of gasoline and 3.2 million tons of diesel fuel.<\/p>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces, struck a military-industrial complex and several oil facilities in the Moscow region<\/a> , as well as the Belbek military airfield in Crimea.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported strikes on a number of facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region<\/a> , including an oil refinery, an oil depot, and a microelectronics production facility.<\/p>\n
