A farewell ceremony for Stepan Kubiv<\/span><\/span> took place at St. George’s Cathedral<\/span><\/span> . Thousands of people \u2013 family, friends, colleagues, and associates \u2013 came to bid him farewell.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n During the ceremony, Kubiv was mentioned as a “cheerful, energetic, and positive” man, as well as one of the key statesmen of modern Ukraine.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Ukraine will remember your deeds: you are a brilliant economist, a statesman, a patriot, the commandant of the Trade Union House on the Maidan, the head of the National Bank, the Minister of Economy, the First Deputy Prime Minister, and the co-author of all the fundamental reforms,” was the eulogy heard during the farewell.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The speech also emphasized that Kubiv \u201cleft a mark not only on his deeds, but also on people\u2019s hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “You’ve already changed our country, friend.
