The upper house of the Russian parliament has approved a law that allows the destruction of “hostile” drones over fuel and energy complex facilities in the Caspian sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reuters reports<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

In the explanatory note, the Russian side acknowledged that drones are the main threat to its economic interests in the region.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This primarily concerns the offshore oil fields of Lukoil\u2014Filanovskoe and Korchaginskoye, which were previously attacked by Ukrainian drones.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Moscow stated that the new law should eliminate the “legal vacuum” in the field of anti-terrorist protection of energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Russian authorities claim that the document will not restrict civilian shipping and fishing in the Caspian Sea.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that a Moscow oil refinery temporarily stopped processing oil after a drone attack that occurred on May 17.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery<\/a> in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, as well as the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station.<\/p>\n
